With Christmas around the corner, and New Year’s not far behind, we thought we'd send one last reminder for our holiday wine selection. We will be delivering wines on WEDNESDAY this week. We won't be delivering again until January, so get in your orders for bubbles, warming reds, and special treats before it's too late. Below is a list of wines -- bubbles, whites and reds -- to perfectly compliment Christmas roasts, New Year’s toasts, and generally make holiday festivities that much brighter. Bubbles
Bohigas Brut Cava Reserva NV ($18) This Cava is simply one of the best value sparkling wines we’ve had. Notes of fresh yellow and red fruits, great acids, and a bready character that is just so delicious. Champagne Laherte Frères Ultradition Extra Brut ($52) This is a blend of all three Champagne grapes: Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Full of guava, Meyer lemon, and yeasty brioche notes. Augustin l’Air Cuvée CCXIV ($88) The Augustin family is the most unique Champagne producer we have ever come across. Beautiful and delicate, with the finest of bubbles, and notes of star fruit and almonds. A wine for the special occasions!
Whites
Xavier Clua Terra Alta Il-lusio Garnatxa Blanca 2021 ($22) This white has a great zesty character with delicate fruits and a hint of white pepper spice. Rich, fresh and luscious. Pierre Menard La Varenne de Chanzé Anjou Blanc 2019 ($47) Notes of ripe pear and crushed apple, freshly cut grass, hints of marzipan and wet wool, and a refreshing acidity that balances out the fruit so beautifully. Domaine d’Henri Chablis, 1er Cru, Fourchaume, Héritage, Vieilles Vignes 2019 ($87) This is a super fresh white Burgundy with notes of citrus and green fruits, intense mineral complexity and a very long finish. Incredibly layered, vibrant wine.
Reds
Chateau Peyredon Lagravette 2019 ($35) This is what Bordeaux is all about and at a price that really turns heads. Great complexity and long, long finish with vibrant fruit. G.D. Vajra Albe Barolo 2018 ($56) Lovely notes of rose, violets, wild herbs, wild plum, pine, and red cherry with notable, but integrated tannins and a very long finish. Simply a great example of versatile, complex Barolo. Colline Lucchesi Tenuta di Valgiano 2016 ($100) This blend of Sangiovese, Syrah and Merlot offers a mélange of flavors with great balance, a wonderful sense of minerality and a very long finish. One of our favorite wines of this year.
