This wine is made from very old vines (estimated to be nearly 100 years old) in the Sierra de Salamanca region of Spain. The soils here are largely granite based, and the region is therefore often compared to Beaujolais in terms of wine structure and quality. The Serranas estate is a young one. It was founded in 2017 by a group of seasoned wine veterans, and has since been producing absolutely delicious wines. This Fuente Grulla 2019 is made from the Rufete grape, and is the perfect wine for barbecued burgers. This is a fantastic wine for the price with intense fruit, complex character and really fine tannins. Wonderful!
