Pumpkins, Potions, and Pecorino

Happy Halloween Wine Friends!

If you like spooky things, we have a story for you... It's about a wonderful white grape called Pecorino that was almost lost for good when winemakers in Abruzzo, Italy abandoned it for more high yielding varietals in the 1980s. At one point it was even believed to be totally extinct. But don't hide under the blankets yet, the story has a happy ending. In the late 1990's a researcher found old Pecorino vines in an overgrown vineyard and nursed them back to health. We are so glad they did because Pecorino produces some outstanding white wines and we're so excited to introduce you to one today.

Tenuta de Sterlich is a small project started in 2017 by two friends who purchased 19 hectares of vineyards on a hillside in Abruzzo, Italy. With the help of a famous local wine consultant, they grow mostly local varietals, like Montepulciano, Trebianno, and this delicious Pecorino. They grow everything organically and biodynamically, and are on their way to getting their certification.

Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio fans, this is one you must try for something just a little different. Medium-bodied, complex, and unique, this wine has notes of apricot, pink grapefruit, jasmine and almond skins. It's a wine that keeps revealing new layers with each sip. As we move into crab season, this is one to keep on hand. It would go with any rich seafood for that matter. You'll find it just gets better and better with a little time in the glass. Absolutely delicious!

BACK IN STOCK FOR FALL!

This is one of our best selling reds of all time, and we're excited to have it back in stock for fall. A blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot, this powerful Bordeaux is just an incredible value wine. We love the complexity and long, long finish. Steak frites, roast beef, even a great burger, will all be taken to another level with this wine.
