For this delicious red, we head to the Rhone Valley in southern France where we find this sumptuous blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Roussanne -- a classic blend for this region. This is one of those wines that just makes you smile, especially if you are a lover of French wines, and the elegance and pleasure they can evoke. Slightly spicy with a hint of black pepper, layered on top of dark fruits, like blueberry and plum, and chocolatey undertones. It drinks with a polish and sophistication of wines twice its price. Rouge-Bleu was founded in 2007 and lies directly between the famous Chateaneuf-du-Pape, and Gigondas regions of the Rhone. French-Australian couple Caroline and Thomas now run the estate, and are working biodynamically with these famous soils. This is a robust yet graceful wine to serve with grilled steak or BBQ burgers and blue cheese.
